Healing the Body with Reiki Physical Healing

Reiki physical healing

Reiki physical healing is what most people think of when they think of Reiki. As a matter of fact, oftentimes when people try to explain Reiki to someone, they will say it is a form of massage. Although well-intentioned, that's not what Reiki is. Reiki is energy healing, and the physical touching (when that is even used) is only for enhancing the connection to as part of the process of giving Reiki energy.

In spite of being confused with massage, Reiki will have many similar benefits. Reiki is relaxing to the body, as it is gentle. People who receive regular Reiki treatments generally have lower blood pressure. Furthermore, the body is re-energized at the same time, leading to greater stamina and better execution.

Speaking from my personal experience with Reiki physical healing, I've seen dental surgery heal up in fantastic time with little pain, and a fraction of the normal painkillers needed. I've seen debilitating motion sickness controlled and eliminated. I've seen chronic muscle/nerve pain brought to and kept at manageable levels. Others have seen more.

Although great things have been done with Reiki, each person will react differently. As each person is unique, so too is their interaction with Reiki. This holds true for practitioners as well as recipients. Some deal with Reiki solely on a spiritual level, while others notice the effects physically. The important thing to remember about Reiki is its gentle nature. Reiki's effect is delicate, and doesn't disturb. A Reiki treatment usually won't "blast away" a problem, but it will improve the situation, and allow you to go further.

I have read and experienced that a Reiki treatment is akin to pouring fresh water into a glass of water with mud at the bottom. At first, the mud becomes diffuse, but is still there. Eventually, as more water pours in, the mud overflows and disappears from the glass. My advice would be to simply open up to what you receive.

Along those lines, let me present a few tips when seeking someone out for Reiki physical healing:

  • Have a firm idea what you are there for. The more specific the better. Be able to communicate this with the practitioner
  • Don't try to force anything. As much as possible, just try to relax and accept. Reiki won't go where there is resistance, so do your best to let go and accept.
  • Take note of any thoughts or feelings you experience. You may wish to discuss them with the practitioner when the Reiki session is over. Oftentimes, this will offer great insight.

Simply keeping and open mind and paying attention to your own mind and body will be of huge benefit here. Many of us so often try to force a result, that we forget to see the process. Relax and let the Reiki help you.
