Help Maintain the Healing Mindset with Healing Therapy Music.

Healing Therapy Music - makes your heart soar.

Selecting good healing therapy music takes some creativity and thought.

For example: Are you looking to use the music for ambiance? If so, what kind of atmosphere are you looking to create? Remember that it's all about the needs of those you are trying to help. You need to get them to relax and let go, not get wound up because the music is annoying.

One handy way to approach this is to remember that music is communication. Beyond words and language, instrumentals speak to everyone. Even though we interpret music differently, it's a great way to convey a complex mix of emotions and concepts.

A few of the possible themes for ambient music are:

  • Warm and inviting
  • Light and airy
  • Calm and contemplative
  • Vibrant and energetic
  • Whimsical and playful
  • And of course, any combination you can imagine.

Again, match the music to the person and the issue. Taiko drums may be just the thing for one person, where someone else may need gentle chimes. Others may like Gregorian chants, but still others might like electronic music or something more classical like flute and violin.

Healing Therapy Music as a Guided Journey.

Seriously, I'd give the Quantum Light Breath a try. It really expanded my awareness.

I was working with the QLB when I suddenly started hearing dimensional tones. I didn't understand them or know what to do with them, (I later learned of them while studying with Higher Balance) at any rate. But I paid about $15 for it. You can download it from Amazon for less than a buck!

Of course, you don't have to keep the same music for healing all the way through. You can actually tailor the healing therapy music for interactivity. For example: One of my favorite breathwork sessions is the Quantum Light Breath. It starts out with didgeridoo and other bass instruments and the breathwork moves up the chakras.

As you progress, the music does as well, until it's ethereal and light by the time you're done.

My Reiki teacher, Nanette, used this principle in her teaching to great effect. When the time came and I was taking classes to become a Reiki Master/Teacher, I used this as part of my lesson plans.

With a little imagination, you can apply this to any guided work. Just remember to keep it lyrics free (unless there's a message you want to impart that's obvious in the lyrics), and something that will engage the mind.

An Example of How to use Healing Therapy Music.

Imagine you're going to a healer. As the door opens, the quiet yet noticeable strains of soft drums waft through the door. As you go inside, the healing therapy music gets marginally louder. You talk with the healer a bit, at ease and feeling the calming beat.

This time, you're going to use a guided meditation, followed by Reiki work. The music settles into a gentle, flowing, timeless span while you relax into the guided meditation. Then the work begins. As you go through the guided imagery you hear the chants in the Temple, you feel the blessed expansiveness of the Universe, the glorious beauty of the Source itself. There is no music, there is only the experience.

Then, gently, the guided meditation wears down. You find yourself opening your eyes, much more aware than you were before. The healer switches to the sounds of chimes in the woodlands, and you relax and accept the Reiki work. Your mind no longer clenches up around the thorns and intrusions of day-to-day life. Your consciousness simply flows unimpeded.

After an indeterminate time later, the Reiki session ends and you sit talking for a while. A pleasant piece of pop music is playing, reminding you of the outside world, without beating you down with it. When you're feeling grounded enough, you bid goodbye and head home.

Of course, that's just one way of doing it. There are many ways you can use music to your advantage. I use music in most of my meditation work. It's tempting to try the "ivory tower" route about things, but let's face it; meditation is hard enough as it is. Why not be gentle with yourself?

Obviously, this just scratches the surface of what you can do with healing therapy music If you want a great example of what I'm talking about, check out the Higher Balance material, as it's the best quality I've found.
