There are Many Different Energy Healing Schools, And Each One Has Its Lessons. There are many different energy healing schools. Both in the literal, "go to school" sense, and in the more general "school of thought" sense. Each one has lessons and advantages. Here I will bring up a few of the more known energy healing schools and explain some of the pros and cons. EFTEFT has many things going for it as a tool for energy healing. It is easily learned, widely applicable, and effective in many cases. The drawbacks to EFT are few, but noticeable: In most cases, it takes repeated treatments to remove a particular block. Even then, oftentimes it will be incomplete because the focus was on the wrong aspect of the problem. Disbelief is not a problem limited to EFT. A firm belief that what you're trying can't work will short-circuit just about anything. However, EFT is especially vulnerable due to it's simplicity. Another problem with EFT is the topic of disbelief. EFT is so simple, many people hold mental reservations that it will not work. If such reservations are powerful enough, it can (of course) derail the entire effort. However, if someone is simply open to the possibility of it working, then they will most likely see results. Still others have noted that EFT's main focus is for people to heal themselves. This isn't a bad thing. However, many people looking for energy healing info want information on how to heal others. As usual, resourceful enthusiasts have found a way to help others using EFT by using what's called surrogate EFT which opens the possibility of not only helping others directly, but doing so over a distance. ReikiGoing back to Dr. Usui in the late 1800s, and tracing back to India before that, Reiki is one of the few energy healing schools that must be taught teacher-to-student. This gives it a life and richness that many other methods don't have. The fact that it is taught instead of being found on a page helps make sure that by the time you're ready to use it, you know you have what you need. Reiki is gentle, relaxing, and can bring about powerful releases of unwanted energy and destructive emotions. Reiki operates by the practitioner acting as a conduit. The healing energy (Reiki translates loosely as "universal life force energy") flows through them into the recipient. Note that the healing energy doesn't come from the healer, but through the healer. The basic form of Reiki as traditionally taught (When it comes to looking for an energy healing schools, there actually is an actual school in Hawaii for Reiki) seems limited or constrained to many. In Reiki work you give healing energy to the recipient and let them do with it as they will. That having been said, many people will learn Reiki and then will adapt it beyond the basics, often combining it with one or more other healing modes. Others find Reiki to be perfect exactly as it is and don't believe that any changes or modifications are needed. Qi GongAlthough Qi Gong has been around for hundreds of years, I'm just now getting around to learning it myself... Shame on me :-). Casual observation of qi gong will show that it resembles Tai Chi, and with good reason. The two do share some similarities and some common background. Many see it as a form of exercise. However, most branches of Qi Gong do work directly with energy. In particular the Spring Forest branch of Qi Gong develops (in the higher levels) the ability to clear energy blockages in other the energy systems of other people. More-so than EFT or Reiki, Qi Gong seems to be self-focused. Once again, this is not a bad thing. Practicing Energy Healing - Follow Your Heart.I've spent over a decade studying from different forms of energy work and energy healing schools, and won't be stopping any time soon. Why? Because for me, my spirit tells me that continual seeking and reflection is the way to go. You may find that one path or another calls to you in particular. Follow that intuition. The people at Higher Balance Institute call that the Navigator. Remember that this is energy healing. Applying cold physical logic will only take you so far. Listen to your head, listen to your heart, but follow your spirit. Once you've taken the first step, keep paying attention to how you feel. There are many different energy healing schools out there, don't give up until you find one for you. One thing that will help with any energy healing technique is a regimen to help clear your mind, and build up your own energy system. When working with energy, you want your "muscles" to be strong, right? Meditation is popular, but with so many forms, and so little guidance, it can be really hard to get results. I have found a system that is very effective, and I'll be sharing that on this site soon, so stay tuned. For further reading:
