Crystal Energy Healing - Using the Tools Nature has Provided.

Before I get into crystal energy healing, let me share some of my personal history. I practiced energy work from a very young age. During that time, I found I had an affinity for rocks, stones, and crystals. When I would do energy work with them, I would find them very useful tools. Naturally, as I started turning my energy work to healing, I found uses for my stones and crystals there as well.

These days, the quartz crystal is practically the symbol of the "new age". People will mention a crystal of some kind and people will tend to roll their eyes and write off the rest of the conversation, thinking of someone who has lost it completely. If you're reading this, I'll ask you to set aside such images for a bit.

Why Crystals?

This is actually a pretty common question. Before I get into it, though, let's take a step back. If you are doing energy work of any kind, you are probably aware that spaces and objects can tend to taken on the type of energy used. Some rooms just feel contentious. Others just feel serene.

You can take a room that's been the scene of a fight or argument, and bring people in. Even if they don't realize what's going on, they'll pick up on the energy of the fight. Once the energy of the fight is cleared out, people will notice the difference even if they don't understand it.

Stones, and especially crystals, are made of a dense material, and often have a crystal structure. This lends well towards absorbing and holding energy of all kinds. Like putting a brick in the sun will cause the brick to keep heat for some time, so too can you use a stone or crystal in the same way.

What does it feel like?

When working with crystal energy healing, it's important to understand that to use the crystal as a tool, you will need to actually give the crystal the energy "programming" that you want.

For starters, get into a quiet state, and find within yourself a sense of the well-being and healthy energy that you want the crystal to radiate. Don't rush; It's better to take your time and really feel it.

Once you have what you want the stone or crystal to "feel like", you then allow yourself to turn your mental attention to the crystal itself. Don't bother with the physical look of it, but pay attention to how it makes you feel.

Once you see the difference between the what the crystal feels like and the essence of what you want, shower the crystal with that essence of well-being and health/joy. Don't try to force anything. Force doesn't factor into any healing, crystal energy healing or no. Just share the feeling you want with the crystal, and let it soak it up. When the crystal has absorbed this programming, you'll know.

What to do with it?

That's up to you. This is your crystal and your programming. I've used such charged crystals to help set an ambiance of peace and cleansing. I've used them to focus my efforts like a magnifying glass focuses sunlight. Use what feels right for you.

You may very well have noticed that I've talked a bit about feelings, and there is good reason for this: Crystal energy healing, like any energy work, isn't really done with any of the five physical senses. They can help, but they cannot sense energy alone.

In order to really use this method, try to get in the habit of seeing what things feel like to your mind. Try to get a sense for its essence, beyond its looks or form.

Are crystals necessary?

In my experience, no. I know I just created a controversy, but I don't really use crystal energy healing anymore (or any energy work for that matter). I still have my collection though, and don't plan on getting rid of them. For me, they were "training wheels" that I was eventually able to work past needing. Others may require more.

Remember: Each of us is unique and thus each of us will have different experiences. If you find an attraction or affinity to using stones or crystals with your energy healing, by all means, explore it, and use what works for you.
