Get the Feel for Beautiful Healing Music.

You want your beautiful healing music to produce feelings of happiness and safety.

There's more to beautiful healing music than just how it sounds. More important is how it makes you feel.

I've had situations where I found a great piece of music that had the tone and ambiance that I wanted, but I couldn't use it. Why? The feel of the music was wrong.

In my meditative practice I will often use high-tempo electronic music. I wouldn't listen to the stuff recreationally, but the tracks I select produce a great feeling that I use to make my meditations more effective.

Here is where paying attention to your feelings starts to pay off. If you practice self-observation, you will notice the subtle effect of the music on you. Beyond what instruments, or the tempo, or any of that, there is a noticeable and direct effect on how you feel. That is what we're looking for.

Avoid trying to quantify how it feels. I know, it's hard. Just about all of us think in a heavily structured, linguistic way. Trying to parse something so subtle and delicate through that won't get you what you need. Just notice how it feels, and let that become its own language.

Now, you'll want to ask yourself: "Ok, it sounds good, but does this beautiful healing music have the right feel?" If it does, then you've got a winner. If it doesn't, where does it take you? It might be cut out for a different kind of healing work from what you intend, or perhaps it is entirely unsuited to the task.

Exercises for "getting the feel"

It 's tricky to get beyond the cluttered and slow thinking process we're taught to use, but there are a few backdoors which you can use to show you where you're trying to go.

If you are at all familiar with using dowsing rods, or a pendulum, you already know of one. The principle is pretty simple: Some part of you knows the answer to your question, but you aren't consciously aware of it. So, you give your muscles something easy to manipulate to be able to send a message. With training, it becomes quite useful. Of course... with training, it becomes irrelevant. The trick? You guessed it: Self-observation.

When you're asking questions using the pendulum or dowsing rods, pay attention to how you feel. Every little detail. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Of course, for best results, you'll be calm and with a clear head. When you ask a question you will start to notice something right before the result appears in the pendulum or dowsing rods. It's very subtle and it arrives a split second before the result, but once you find it, pay attention. The more you watch it, the more obvious it becomes.

Once you know what to look for, you can check the same feelings when selecting the right beautiful healing music.

The next part is the tricky bit: Keeping your mind quiet enough to clearly notice the feeling. A good meditation practice will help there, but working with it is the only way to figure out how it all works. However, this isn't spiritual rocket science. Just take note of what the music makes you feel and go from there. Once you find your own beautiful healing music, you'll wonder how you worked without it.
