Here's Energy Healing Bulletin #005 - Getting to Know You
June 30, 2009

Hello, and welcome to the fourth edition of the newsletter. Four months going strong! Thanks for sticking with me.

***** News Flash! *****

New pages are proceeding, but still slower than I'd like. I've found ways of moving things around so they should be faster. Thanks for your patience.

***** This edition's topic: Getting to Know You *****

I wanted to take this newsletter in a more relaxed direction as opposed to the last few. I've been admittedly a little preachy in the last few (although, with good reason in my opinion), and I felt like something a little more relaxed was in order.

Healers are interesting people. Like most spiritual types, they seek to not only understand the universe around them, but also seek to nurture, strengthen and support it. In the circles I travel, we call this type of spiritual person a "white cell", as we function within Gaia in a way reminiscent of white cells in the body. We have an awareness, we look for problems, and then we try to heal them, rooting out the source of the problem.

It's very easy to get swept up in the rush to learn new techniques, try different methods. There are a lot of schools and techniques out there. However, don't lose sight of the basics. You're a healer. Follow your heart and you won't go far wrong.

There was a scene in "The Karate Kid", wherein Daniel was asking Mr. Miyagi how he could compete against advanced students who knew a lot more karate than he did. Mr. Miyagi's response was that it doesn't matter how much you know, but how well you know it. The same is true spiritually.

Now, I'm a geek. I know all about wanting the latest technology. However, I find that while learning a new technique adds to my understanding of things, if I neglect the bedrock of spiritual practice (meditation, reflection, practicing non-thought, etc) all the technique in the world won't matter. There's no point having a really neat gizmo, if you haven't paid the electricity bill ;-D

At the same time, many who pursue their spirituality try to aim to completely sublimate themselves in it; they lose all sense of self, or think that they have to stop being themselves. This couldn't be farther from the truth. As I pursue my spiritual nature, I am becoming more and more like myself. I'm also realizing that most of my patterns aren't actually me; they were programmed in by my parents, friends, or society at large. As I remove them, I find myself much more able to embrace my true nature. All else flows from that. Take the time to get to know yourself. It's worth the effort.

***** Q&A Section *****

No questions just yet, so send some in! Doesn't even have to be topical, just ask away!

***** Other Errata ***** Not only am I open to questions, but also to pointers. What do you like, and what do you want to see more of? What works for you and what doesn't? I write for you, so let me know how I'm doing :-)

See you next time!
