Energy Healing Bulletin, Issue #001 -- Energy Starvation - What It Is And How To Avoid It. February 28, 2009 |
Hello, and welcome to the first newsletter. Please excuse the loose format, it'll shape up moving forward. This newsletter will cover topics related to (of course) energy healing. Techniques, what it is to be a healer, and where we are all going as healers and energy workers will be discussed. We'll also have a Q&A section for anyone who wants to open a dialogue or share something.
***** News Flash! ***** The site is now 100% moved over into the new, more readable format! We have now published our first newsletter! Yippee! Videos and possibly other goodies coming soon.
***** This edition's topic: Energy Depletion and Starvation ***** I figured I'd start off with the first newsletter discussing something important and common to most healers and energy workers. There were a lot of good candidates, but I finally settled on energy starvation. It's a big problem if you're unfamiliar with it, and it's pretty common. The more spiritual work you do, the more energy you use, the more you need. Depletion is never pleasant and it can sneak up on you. However, with awareness you can avoid it. Moving from the physical to the sublime, we need to look at how everything works. You are an energy being working with billions of lifeforms which make up the collective we call a body. You are not the body, but you are the organizing consciousness. Your emotions, some of which are the genuine "you" and some of which are reactions of the body, have a direct impact on your energy level. Thus, if you have unresolved emotional problems, this can drain your energy very quickly. These are commonly referred to as "energy leaks". Taking this one step further, people can (and do) drain you. Most are unintentional, but there are a few deliberate leechers out there who love playing vampire with your energy. Spend some time with them, and feel your vitality, awareness, and emotional wellbeing hit the floor so hard it bounces. I try to keep a jovial tone, but anyone who has been drained knows it's not fun. Last but not least, there's over-extension. Any kind of energy work requires expending energy. No way around it. (Reiki can get a partial pass, as the practitioner is drawing in energy from the Universe, and channeling it into the recipient. The practitioner goes along for the ride, so it's not too draining. Still, a good idea to stay on top of things.) So, if you're expending more energy than you are bringing in, you're using up reserves. This is why many people practicing psychic abilities will find themselves unable to think and or have a headache. They've used up their reserves and are now depleted. Over time, I call this kind of depletion starvation. As mentioned before, one of the most common signs of depletion is a headache, often coupled with a jittery, vaguely-nauseated feeling. You can also expect the physical weakness and irritability that come along with it, although each symptom can show up independently. One subtle effect that many don't notice unless you practice self observation: When you're depleted, you will often lose your higher awareness and get bogged down in the petty things. Trivialities, which wouldn't even show up on your radar when you're in your normal form, but which all seem monumental now. Another hint is that you will be reacting from the worst place in you. That's important, so I'll say it again: You'll be reacting from the worst place in you. When you're depleted, your body as a collective of organisms has even greater say in what goes on than usual. For most of us, we think that our thoughts and emotions are 100% ours. Most of them in fact belong to the body. When we are starved for energy, our body kicks in, and it's basic job is to survive. So what we have now is reactions from the body in survival mode instead of conscious response from you. Not a recipe for a good time, I think. With all of these consequences of starvation in mind the immediate question becomes: "How do I fix it? Better yet, how do I AVOID it?" Well, there are a couple of things to keep in mind: First: Prana (energy) is everywhere. This entire physical universe is just window-dressing. A hologram. The Matrix. Underlying and permeating it all is prana. Knowing this, you can decide to open yourself up to receiving it. Generally speaking, the best way to do this is in meditation, which I'll cover more soon. In the meantime, simply keeping awareness of the fact that you're surrounded, and illuminated by this energy from all around you and inside out will help. It is important to note that while someone may have taken energy from you, you don't need to drain someone else. Once you have some idea of the life energy of the Universe all around you, you'll see that taking it from someone else is... well... stupid. It's taking the long way around and hurting someone in the process and limiting you to boot. Bringing energy in is one thing, but there's little point pouring water into a cracked cup; it'll all leak out. Dealing with emotional issues is tricky, but we're healers after all: This is what we train for :-D When you're looking to plug up your leaks, I recommend starting by reading this page: http://www.fleurdelis.com/desiderata.htm It is the Desiderata. A beautiful and moving little passage. Of particular note here is the section: Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Read the whole thing and just notice how it makes you feel. Don't analyze, just let yourself feel it. Good, huh? Beyond that, it's down to the healing techniques we've been talking about on the site. Each is a way of letting go of the hurts and the pains that we carry with us. If you're looking for something a little more cerebral, try this book: http://bit.ly/SedonaMethodBook It's the Sedona Method, in book format. Far cheaper than their videos, but just as effective. How you decide to weed the garden and free yourself of your pains and energy drains really is up to you. However, in so doing you will not only be improving your life, but the lives of all you touch. A more conscious and empowered healer is obviously a more effective healer. ***** Q&A Section ***** No questions just yet, so send some in!
***** Other Errata ***** That wraps it up for this first edition of the Energy Healing Bulletin. Stay tuned, we're going to have some fun discussing what's possible. |
